YOUTH GROUPS

The Garden Club of Coral Springs sponsors two school youth groups. The
first is Forrest Glen Middle School and the second is Marjorie Stoneman Douglas.
Our organization also provides first and second grade students the opportunity to
explore the parts of the plant we eat, water cycle and making their own
terrariums by presenting what plants need to grow.
The primary goal of our youth groups is to teach young individuals about
gardening techniques, plant care, and sustainable practices. By participating in
these gardening activities, young people develop a sense of responsibility towards
the environment. They learn about the importance of conserving resources,
reducing waste, and protecting biodiversity. It provides opportunities to engage
with peers, mentors, and community members who share common interests in
gardening.
Gardening allows children to connect with the natural world, fostering a sense of
wonder and appreciation for the environment. It encourages them to observe.
