Core Concepts, Style, and Design
- Year-Round Maintenance: Developing consistent schedules and routines to manage a tropical or transitional landscape throughout every season.
- Balance of Color and Plant Heights: Designing dynamic visual layers by strategically arranging short, medium, and tall plant species while balancing color palettes.
- Annuals and Perennials: Selecting appropriate seasonal and multi-year plants, with careful attention to climate and USDA hardiness zone restrictions.
- Pest Control: Managing and preventing common regional landscape pests effectively.
Selection of Plant Material
- Root Structures and Shrubs: Curating foundational garden textures using a combination of traditional bulbs, tubers, and vibrant camellias.
- Conifers and Accent Trees: Incorporating structured dwarf varieties and colorful weeping maples into the overall layout.
- Foliage and Exotic Species: Transitioning from large-leaf anthuriams down to delicate miniature ivies, and anchoring the design with specialized orchids.
